Nika Kupyrova

18 Aug

I came cross Nika Kupyrova‘s work randomly and her installation at is very interesting and intricate! it pays very close attention to detail and evokes the mind. Here is some of her work

this is a peice called ear wax! here is the explaination about it from her site:

In earwax, dismantled plastic flowers are juxtaposed with the precision of computer cables to reveal that they both have a simmilar neatness of structure. Together, they create a reliant semi-permanent indoors growth.
Lifting the upholstery from the furniture exposes a debris of emotional history. Nurturing of the repeatable habits creates a feeling of permanence and a sense of security. The routines of the old furniture become a point of trust and a guarantee of return.

very interesting to know the meaning of the piece while viewing it, it give it alot more meaning. heres a close up of the instllation.

Here is some of here other work that i found very interesting. Nika is definatly worth taking a look at ^_^

Yulia Brodskaya

30 Dec

Yulia Brodskaya was born in Russia (Moscow); prior to moving to the UK in 2004 she was interested in diverse creative practices ranging from Textile Painting, Origami and Collage to more traditional Fine Art practices. Following an MA in Graphic Communication (2006, University of Hertfordshire) she has continued to experiment and explore ways of bringing together all the things she likes most: typography, paper, and highly detailed hand-made craft objects.

I’ve seen her work before and loved it but i havent got around to putting her on my blog till now after see her on my friends blog! ^_^ . The most unquie thing about her work is her papergrahpic work which in my opinion is amazing! i love it its so intricate and looks fab! heres a few!
